To support the Good Start Breakfast Club at Northern Bay College – Tallis St Campus, Corio (which enables students to learn the value of healthy eating and its link to a good education) through the provision of needed equipment (tables, chairs, heater, tableware).
To support a food pantry at the Old Post Office site of Barwon Child, Youth & Family through the purchase of storage cupboards for non-perishable food. The Old Post Office site houses services supporting vulnerable youth and their families.
To support a foodbank service at the Bellarine Living and Learning Centre (BLLC), a neighbourhood centre in Whittington through the purchase of a fridge/freezer and shelving. These items will complement an upgrade of the Kitchen and the creation of a food pantry storage room being undertaken by BLLC and City of Greater Geelong (COGG).
To increase the capacity to store and distribute healthy food (including fresh produce and dairy) to those in need through the purchase of an industrial refrigeration cool room for the North Geelong premises.
To support the provision morning and evening meals at Geelong Inclusive a new women’s crisis housing facility that assist’s women escaping domestic violence through the purchase of a new oven.
To support the distribution of 100 pre-packaged meals per week to organisations that provide emergency food relief through the purchase of appropriate packaging materials.
To support healthy meals for homeless men through the purchase of a commercial fridge/freezer.
To support the collection and redistribution of over 300,000 kilograms of high quality fresh food for 108 community food programs providing 600,000 nutritious meals for disadvantaged families, children and young people in Geelong region through support for fuel costs.
To increase the capacity to provide fresh fruit and vegetables to those in the Geelong community who are hungry or without food by providing a preparation area as part of the food room at the at UnitingCare Geelong Grovedale site.
To increase the effectiveness of volunteers working in the food assistance system through the provision of workshops, technical assistance, development of a volunteer handbook (including the development of standardised volunteer policies and procedures across organisations) for members of the Geelong Food Assistance Network.
