To celebrate the 2022 Feed Geelong Appeal, Ambassador Simon Toohey and two of the Give Where You Live Foundation’s community partners, Common Ground Project and Encompass Community Services have shared their favourite recipes with the community.
Simony Toohey has shared his “go-to” dish ‘Mum’s Oily Pasta’ and another of his crowd-pleasers, Cornbread with Salad.
Simon Toohey said on Brown Paper Bag Day, Friday 14 October, the community is encouraged to donate what they would usually spend on lunch or coffee.
“On Friday 14 October I’m encouraging everyone to get involved in Brown Paper Bag Day and donate your lunch money to help fight hunger in our region. Why not get together with your workmates and cook some of the delicious Feed Geelong Appeal recipes to share for lunch instead of buying it that day,” Simon said.
Thanks to the Mulberry Group, The Gordon and VIVA Energy every donation made on Brown Paper Bag Day will be DOUBLED.^

In 2021 the Foundation granted $35,964 to the Staying Grounded program to provide training and employment pathways in hospitality and farming, while also supplying emergency food relief to those experiencing food insecurity.
